Announcing Jim Tcl version 0.63
Jim Tcl 0.63 has been released and is available from:
https://github.com/msteveb/jimtcl (previously http://repo.or.cz/w/jimtcl.git)
CHANGES SINCE VERSION 0.51
This is a major update which incorporates many bug fixes and new features.
Some of the new features over Jim 0.51 include:
- Now includes comprehensive documentation See: Tcl_Shipped.html
- Now includes extensive unit tests
- Far better tracking of source location, including ‘info source’, ‘stacktrace’ and ‘stackdump’
- Networking support includes IPv6, working UDP support, ‘socket pipe’
- Many bug fixes and improvements in ‘expr’
- ‘exec’ improvements including redirection options and respect for $::env
- Full ‘configure’ support for static extensions
Some notable differences include:
- aio.open and aio.socket are now plain ‘open’ and ‘socket’
- ‘proc’ now returns the name of the procedure
- Changes to the package system and extension interface
- ‘jim’ is now ‘jimsh’
